Antique bronze crane statue on a wooden plinth, made during the 19th Century Meiji period in Japan.  Cranes are symbols of longevity in most Asian cultures.  During the Meiji period Japan began modernising and industrialisation, which lead to it emerging as a great power.  The crane has highly detailed features and an elegant finish, approximate overall size below.
